Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Food

Gum Machine (above) displays a gum dispensing machine.  Whilst I wouldn’t really call bubble gum food, I think the subject itself makes for an interesting composition in black and white. Again I’ve stretched the interpretation with Empty Table (below), which shows that a meal was had and by the looks of it enjoyed. See here for … Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: On the Move

In Chasing Shadows (above) a toddler runs across the courtyard. Wellington’s finest firemen feature in Off to Work (below).

Weekly Photo Challlenge: Split-Second Story

I have taken the split-second story challenge literally where a moment is missed in the blink of an eye.  In “Jandals too big!” above, this young toddler falls backwards as he tries to manoeuvre his little feet inside some borrowed jandals (jandals is Kiwi slang for flip-flops, slippers, thongs, slides, zori etc). Thorndon Fair

The Thorndon Fair is held on the first Sunday of December each year in Wellington, New Zealand.  December 1 is also officially the first day of summer for New Zealand.  Wellington turned on a cracker of a day today and brought everyone out.

Mmmm peanut butter!

Everyone was queuing for a taste of Pics Peanut Butter, even the dog.

Nana-nana-nana-nana Batman!

When our caped crusaders are not battling evil villains they can be found running the Auckland Half Marathon (as was the case on Sunday 3 November 2013).  More photos from Victoria Park below.

Art Deco Facades I

This is a the facade of the Former State Insurance Building, 143-149 Lambton Quay (Wellington, New Zealand).  The wavy facade was all the rage in Europe when the building was constructed in 1940.  A sculpture with jumbled letters rises from street level and is seen in the right hand side of the image. A bit … Continue reading
